Q&A With Kristan Higgins! (And a Giveaway!)

I can't tell you how excited I am for today's Q&A and Giveaway!! I adore Kristan Higgins! So when I was approached for this Blog Tour? I couldn't be more excited! And I adored the book - Check out my review here.  (And be sure to enter the giveaway below! )

  1. Did you chose the writing profession, or did it chose you?
You know, I was always a writer, even before I gave fiction a whirl, so I guess it chose me. But like so many other writers, I told myself stories long before I wrote anything down. The ending of Gone With the Wind was probably the impetus. Clearly, I thought (at age 13), Margaret Mitchell got it all wrong. Spent the next five years making it so Scarlett and Rhett ended up in each other’s arms.

2. Everyone has their own routines and methods, how do you spend a typical writing day?
I write when my kids are in school, and I write every day. I’m usually in my office by 8:30, then come home to greet the little bunnies (well, they’re pretty big bunnies now) when they get home. I go to all their track meets and concerts…don’t want to miss life while you’re writing about it, you know?

3. In your new book, Until There Was You, Posey had been in love with Liam since high school - were these characters based on your personal experience?
Alas, no. First of all, I went to an all-girls school. Secondly, I had no interest in real-life boys until I was 20 or so. Again, Margaret Mitchell ruined things for me. If I couldn’t have Rhett, did I really want a teenage boy?

4. When you're not writing, what do you do for fun?
I love watching movies, reading, baking, eating. I’m a baseball fan (Go Yanks!), but will watch a game even if my team isn’t playing. I’m freakishly good at miniature golf, so I enjoy smiting my husband and children on those fun little courses. And I love to travel and just walk around different places.

5. If you weren't a writer, what would you be?
A pediatric surgeon. Always wanted to be a doctor, and I just love kids.
