January 3: Top Ten Books I'm Excited To Read in 2012

1. by - I just (as in 15 minutes ago) finished Unearthly (teaser below) and I cannot wait to go on with the story. I sort of wished I'd waited 2 more weeks so I could just go straight into book #2!!

2. by - Do I have to give a reason? *LOL* I adore Stephanie Perkins, and I can't wait to read more of her books.

3. by - I am about halfway through the audiobook of Bloodlines, and I already can't wait for the next book!!

4. by - I'm just going to quit with the explanations...

5.  by - After the cliffhanger from Demon Glass?? This book can't come out fast enough!

6. by - Just a few more days!!!!

7. by - I am starting to think I should read a few Stand-Alone titles... LOL

8. by - Yep -- definitely need something that is NOT a series.

9. by - Have I ever mentioned that my cat is named Persephone? And that I'm a HUGE Greek Mythology buff? With Persephone/Hades being my favorite myth?

10. by - *Swoon*

"I'm tired of this 'we better lay low, or someone will figure out we're different' crap. I mean, it's not like if I win a match people are going to say, who's that kid, he's a really good wrestler, he must be and angel."

Todays Teaser is from by ! This book is hilarious and had me laughing, crying and cheering the whole way through. Also? I can't resist - you get a few!

“It’s customary to offer a squeeze to determine if breasts are real or not, you know. Don’t you watch TV?”

She laughed and shoved the retrieved ballcap back on her head. “Nice try, Kowalski. You’ll have to take my word for it.”

Divergent by

A strip of land juts out into the marsh, and rising from it is a giant white wheel with dozens of red passenger cars dangling from it at regular intervals. The Ferris wheel.
"Think about it. People used to ride that thing. For fun," says Will shaking his head.
"They must have been Dauntless," I say.
"Yeah, but a lame version of Dauntless." Christina laughs.
"A Dauntless Ferris wheel wouldn't have cars. You would just hang on with your hands, and good luck to you."

4. by

11/22/63 by . To my Dad, because I think he'd enjoy it - despite his hesitation to read it.

7. Steve Jobs by. For my Father in Law, because I know he'd love it.

8. by . For my best friend - because I want her to love it as much as I did!

What happen was like a horra movie. I never go see horra movies because on Halloween night in1958I lived thru one.

Two quick Teasers from the first 100 pages of 11/22/63 by Stephen King!

December 6:  Top Ten Childhood Faves (This is the first TTT we did so I apologize for the handful of you who have already done it!)

In no particular order...

1. Baby Sitters Club. Who didn't love the Baby Sitter's Club?? The summer after fourth grade I checked out the majority of the available books from the library and read every single one.

2. by
by .
by
by . I'm fairly certain at this point, the whole list is a cliche. But I think most "kids" my age got hooked on the same books...
by . I always looked forward to reading these books in school. Every year we had a week where the librarian read this (And the Light in the Attic) to everyone in school

7. by . While all my friends loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? I was more enamoured with the Great Glass Elevator! It's my favorite of Dahl's books; although I have never read one I didn't just love.

8. by . This one is more for sentamental reasons than because I loved it... The summer camp I attended from 1987-2003 (as child and as staff) read this yearly at our "all camp vespers" night.

9. by . Again, I think this was requisite reading for girls my age, wasn't it?? ''

Faking Faith by Josie Bloss

Rage began to bloom in my chest. A rage like I hadn't felt since I came upon Blake and Caitlin Merriweather propped up against his car. My internal Faith-censor went straight out the window and flew ten miles across the cornfields and exploded in the sky.

Top Ten Authors I'd Love To Have At My Thanksgiving Feast
Oh my gosh!! This is such a fun question, and my answers are in absolutely random order!

1. Susan Mallery. I would love to have her for so many reasons! I think she is genuinely a wonderful person; she is my go-to for feel-good Romance novels. And I always love chatting with her on twitter, she just seem so appreciative of her fans.

2. Stephen King. Again, I am a huge Stephen King fan. But honestly? I would love to have him at my table because I can only imagine the fabulous conversations he would have with my Dad (who I will be sharing Thanksgiving with this year.)

3. Joanne Fluke. Plain and simple, she can bring the dessert. (Seriously, have you read the Hannah Swensen books?? The recipes are DELICIOUS!)

4. Stephanie Perkins. I think she would be the life of the party!

5. Rachel Hawkins. For several reasons, most importantly? I will feed her my yummy Pumpkin Pie and she will be so thankful that she will answer the cliff hanger from Demon Glass!!

6. Sarah Dessen. Because I'm a major Fan Girl!

7. Ellen Degeneres. Hey; this counts because she's written several memoirs. (Ok; so she probably had a ghost writer. But still. Who wouldn't want Ellen over for Thanksgiving?

8. Kathleen Flinn. Ok, I'll be honest. I want her to COOK the Thanksgiving dinner! ( and .)

9. Richelle Mead. This is another purely for the fan girl in me.

10. Mark Twain. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is my favorite book. Ever.  (Of course, I would prefer a living version; so with time travel not being in existence? Well, this will just have to be a fantasy!)

(Now; on a different note? I sort of wish this question had been "What Characters" because that list would have been EASY PEASY!! )

"You know how you drown a blonde, Rosalie?" I asked without stopping or turning to look at her. "Glue a mirror to the bottom of a pool."

This weeks teaser is from by .(Because Fool's Gold is my favorite town!)

When he'd bought the veterinary practice in Fool's Gold, he'd wanted to find a welcoming community to raise his daughter. What he'd found was a place to call home. No one simply lived in the town. They became a part of whatever was going on.

November 8: Ten Books That I Read That Were Outside Of My Comfort Zone (whether you liked them or not)
This question was shockingly difficult for me to come up with answers beyond 3! I made it to six, but have stopped there... so this is really a Top Six books list!
1. by   I think this is one of the most difficult books I have ever read.  (My Review)

2. by .  I read this one for a book club a few summers back and the whole time I was struggling to read it - it's the only book of hers that I have read, but the whole thing just gave me an off vibe and I didn't care for it.

3.  by .  Just the title gives away my struggle with this one.

4. by . This was one of my first reviews when I set up my blog - and one of the hardest books to read. I am both disgusted and fascinated by the FLDS cult.

5. by . Looking beyond the fact that this is one of the worst books I have ever read - I hated it and struggled to read it because I just couldn't stand hte writing style.  The concept of this book was just hard to swallow. Had it not been for book club? It would have been a DNF.

6. by Anything dealing with young people and suicide is tough for me; my best friends brother commited suicide in high school; and it's just very difficult for me to deal with. But I loved this book.

He lowered his voice to  a whisper and gave her a very adorable grin. "I'm a porn star."
She gave a hearty laugh. "Yeah. Me, too. Posey Does Portsmouth. Have you seen it?"
He stood up straighter, and the smile left his face. "Posey, I act in adult films. That's my job."
Holy Elvis Presley. He was serious.
